Primates in an 18 days Uganda Wildlife Safari
You will also visit Bwindi Impenetrable and Mgahinga National Parks on this 18 days Uganda Wildlife Safari. Have the ultimate primate experiences of gorilla trekking and golden monkey trekking, meeting silver with gold. A community walk to the Batwa is inevitable. Lake Mburo National Parks is also installed for you on this trip, rewarding you with fascinating wildlife and cultural experiences. You will also explore Eastern Uganda starting with Jinja, the adventure city of East Africa. Continue eastwards to Mt. Elgon, Sipi falls and Tororo rock. Finalizing our long expedition with a visit to Kidepo Valley National Park.
This safari is going to take you around Western, Eastern, Southwestern and Northeastern Uganda. Through Murchison falls, Queen Elizabeth, Bwindi impenetrable, Mgahinga, Semuliki, Lake Mburo National parks and very many other destinations.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Start our 18 days Uganda Wildlife Safari, transfer to Murchison falls National Park.
After an early morning breakfast, meet our guide at 06:00am at your accommodation. Set off at 7:00am to Murchison falls National Park through the famous Luwero-Nakasongola triangle. First stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino tracking with a lunch stopover enroute at Kabalega Diners in Masindi. After lunch drive to Murchison falls national park via Kichwambanyobo gate.
Arrive at the hotel in the evening for overnight.
Day 2: Game drive, boat cruise and hiking Top of the falls.
After the scrumptious breakfast provided by the lodge, go for an early morning guided game drive. You will have a glimpse of various wild animals like leopards, lions, giraffes, elephants, waterbucks, warthogs among others. Go back to the hotel for lunch.
After lunch we set off for a boat cruise usually at 2:00pm. Heading to the base of the Magnificent Murchison falls (Kabalega falls). Adding on your animal count including crocodiles, hippos, elephants. Plus the sweet melodies from bird life, sun bird and bee eaters along the Nile cliff. The boat docks you exposing you to a hike to top of the Murchison falls. Here you will have a view of the thunderous Murchison falls from all angles.
Day 3: Transfer to Fort Portal, Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru.
After breakfast, go for an early morning drive through Masindi and Hoima to Fort Portal that rests in the shadows of the legendary Rwenzori ranges. On your arrival visit Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru and the Tooro Palace to understand the political and cultural history of the Batooro. Check in later in the evening.
Day 4 of an 18 days Uganda wildlife safari: Semuliki and Mahoma falls.
After putting something in your stomach on an early morning, slowly meander around the Western arm of the riftvalley. With a stop at the Viewing point for photos and a few insights on its formation. Continue to Semuliki National Park to visit the breathtaking male and female hotsprings. Have a chance to boil and eat eggs in this steamingly hot water.
Go back to the hotel for lunch. Then head to the mind relaxing Mahoma falls, good for soothing your hot afternoon.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and nature walk.
After your morning breakfast, move to Kibale National Park for chimpanzee tracking. You are joined by our staff and then go for a briefing. Listen to the dos and don’ts of the exercise upto 8:00am. Set off to the major Kanyanchu head trail with most habituated families and excellent chances to encounter primates. Forexample Uganda manga bey (Lophocebus ugandae), the L’Hoest’s monkey and the Ugandan red colobus. Return to the lodge for lunch.
We then strike for a Bigodi swamp walk through Kibale forest. Hop onto a birding session and see the yellow-billed barbet, papyrus gonolek among others, surrounded by unique vegetation and flowers. Return to the lodge for overnight.
Day 6: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, evening game drive.
After breakfast, check out and head to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese, just a few hours away. On arrival visit the Kikorongo equator which is newly renovated with very beautiful and hygienic surroundings. Proceed to our hotel and have lunch. Relax and later on go for an evening gamedrive in the Kasenyi sector. See Elephants, antelopes, lions, baboons panoramic crater lake views. Return to the lodge for an overnight.
Day 7: Tree climbing lions and boat cruise at Kanziga channel.
After breakfast, go for another gamedrive early in the morning to exhaust the abundant species in this Medley of Wonders. Then go for tree climbing lion tracking in the Ishasha sector. Coupled with more wildlife dominated by primates to birdlife, marking our morning activity. Afterwards, shoot the boat cruise along the famous Kazinga channel which connects lakes George and Edward. Bringing you to a close range with schools of Hippos, elephants, birdlife to bird lovers and Nile crocodiles. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 8 of an 18 days Uganda wildlife safari: Transfer to Bwindi
Check out from your accommodation after enjoying your breakfast. Steer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with a stop for delicious lunch at the Great Lakes Museum. Continue our journey and go for a community walk in areas adjacent to the park. For culture, entertainment, traditions of the Batwa (pygmies) and Bakiga. Return to the lodge for an overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla tracking and transfer to Mgahinga National Park.
After your early morning breakfast report at the park offices for a briefing about Mountain Gorillas. Before 8:30am set off for our dream come true Gorilla experience. Along with ranger guides that can be as short as 2 hours to 6 hours. On encountering them, a maximum of one hour with the park giants is allocated to you. Watch them feed, play and pleased for your visit, return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, dissect through the gorgeous hills of Kigezi escarpments to a stunning corner road to Kisoro town. Connecting you to Mgahinga National Park.
Check in for overnight.
Day 10: Golden monkey trekking and Batwa trail.
Very early in the morning, report to the park headquarters for a briefing. After, set off for the lesser primate endemic golden monkey in the lowland bamboo. They are threatened by flying eagles easing their accessibility in a period of 3-7 hours. On encounter, a maximum of one hour is permitted to you with the wild gold.
Return to the lodge for lunch and rest for the rest of the day.
Day 11: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
After your early morning breakfast drive through the fascinating Kigezi ranges in “the Switzerland of Uganda”. Covered with mist and fog in morning hours. Stopover at Igongo Cultural Center restaurant for lunch. Proceed to the park lodge, relax and have an overnight.
Day 12: Game drive and boat cruise.
Wake up on an African cup of tea/coffee in mumbles of the wild with our guide for a game drive as we roam around the park taking a scenic view of zebras feeding in acacia woodlands, wetlands with impalas, bushbucks and Topi’s, rock outcrops, birdlife and the long horned Ankole indigenous cattle. Return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch we embark on a boat cruise as we navigate in the tranquility for about two hours with a glance at Nile crocodiles, hippos, the gorgeous kingfisher, striking Eagles and an awesome sun set. Return to the lodge for a relaxed evening sun bath and overnight.
Day 13 of an 18 days Uganda wildlife safari: Transfer to Jinja Nile resort.
After your morning breakfast check out of your hotel to the adventurous journey to Jinja through the Ankole Masaka dry corridor with a stopover at Kayabwe for Equator experience and photos marking our southern hemisphere tour, lunch in Kampala. Proceed to the adventure city Jinja coupled with Sezibwa falls, arriving at the hotel in Jinja for overnight.
Day 14: Source of the Nile and transfer to Mount Elgon.
After a mouthwatering breakfast, visit the Source of the Nile for a boat cruise and some shopping at the art gallery. Enjoy a Kiganda traditional dance performance from a dance group and donate something in case you feel the need to. Go back to the hotel, have lunch and check out. Transfer to Kapchorwa and check in on arrival.
Day 15: Nature walk and hike Sipi falls.
After your early morning breakfast, go to the headquarters of Mt. Elgon National Park, from there go for a short hike and witness flora and fauna in abundance as the birds boast their melodies. Go back to the hotel for lunch and then set off for a nature walk through the Bamasaba community famous for pure high-quality Arabic coffee production in Budadari trail head along the Sipi falls, in a memorable and beautiful afternoon, align for the mystical hike of the Sipi falls. Take part in the thrilling abseiling adventure. Return to the lodge for an overnight.
Day 16 of our 18 days Uganda wildlife safari. : Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park.
Wake up with an African cup of coffee/tea and checkout to Karamoja region in the extreme north eastern Uganda with lunch en-route, arriving in the evening for overnight.
Day 17 : Game drive and cultural encounters.
After your early morning breakfast you’re joined with our staff and UWA ranger who will drive us through the Narus valley for other wildlife including giraffes, bush duiker, jackal, bushbuck, bush pig, ostrich, buffalos.
Return back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch we dig in for a nature walk to leisurely walks through the Narus valley, meet members of the endangered IK tribe and wander the splendid Kidepo River Valley between banks of borassus palm forest.
Overnight at the lodge
Day 18: Return back to Kampala.
After breakfast, depart to Kampala via Kitgum to Gulu for a lunch stopover, continue through the Luwero Nakasongola triangle arriving Kampala early evening. Marking the end of our Uganda wildlife tour.
